A journal for people who don’t journal. Jot down what was good, what was hard, or what surprised you, in a sentence or out loud. Over time, Buffalo points out the patterns.
The good stuff, the hard stuff, the stuff nobody saw coming. It all counts.
How it works
Journaling, minus the homework.
Every entry starts with one of three questions. Swipe through to see what each one catches.

HIGHLIGHT
What was good.
Getting the offer. A friend who called just to talk. Whatever made the day better, big or small.
TUE · 8:40 AM — Coffee with Priya. We talked for two hours.

LOWLIGHT
What was hard.
The call you keep moving. Missing your brother’s big game. Put it somewhere, so it’s not only in your head.
TUE · 1:40 PM — Moved the call with my sister. Third time this month.

SURPRISE
What surprised you.
Lemons on the doorstep. Running into your ex at the grocery store. Not good or bad, exactly. Just not what you expected.
SAT · 9:14 AM — A neighbor I’ve never met left lemons on my step.
Say as little or as much as you want.
A sentence is enough, but there’s room for more. Type it or talk it out—Buffalo writes it down.
Whenever works.
Once a week, once a day, or three times before lunch.
No streaks.
Miss a week and nothing breaks. A quiet week is just a quiet week.
insights
See what keeps coming up.
You write the moments. Buffalo finds the thread: who makes the hard days lighter, which small yeses turn into your best days, what keeps slipping away. Every insight ends on a question, never a verdict.
WHY WE’RE BUILDING THIS
“The small moments say the most about you.”
Hi, I’m Yvonne. Buffalo started on solo walks around Tokyo, when I kept noticing little moments I wanted to remember and knew most of them wouldn’t last until I sat down to write.
So we’re building something smaller than a journal: three questions from a dinner-table game. What was good, what was hard, what surprised you. Over time, your answers show you things about yourself you’d never spot one day at a time.
